Better Late than Never

It seems like Christmas was a lot longer than just two weeks ago! Nevertheless, here are a few snap-shots of the big present-opening event. Even though this wasn't Gavin's first Christmas, it sure felt like it! Last year, he was only four months, and really didn't get too interested. Not so this year!

Here he is "sizing up" the boxes.

The first package he opened, he wanted to play with right away. It didn't take him long to get the hang of the routine (open toy, pass to daddy, open next toy). Hey, wait a minute, why is Daddy playing with my new toy!

Each box he opened, he responded with an "Oooooooo," like he was so surprised - too cute!

The final damage.

...And his favorite toy, T-Rex!

Silly me, I was worried Gavin might be frightened. T's eye's light up RED, and he makes a horrible, screeching "ROOOOAR!" But my little boy wasn't scared. Instead, he excitedly took his new "pet" to see the Christmas tree, pointing and saying, "See, see..." Later that evening, he even tried to feed T-Rex by dripping some milk from his sippy cut into T's mouth!

Christmas morning, we headed to the airport to visit Grandma and Grandpa in Orlando, so more to come...

Busy Start!

I feel like I'm starting this year way behind! I didn't post much in December, not because we didn't do much, but because we were so busy! It was a special time for us all, since last year Gavin was too young to get excited about Christmas. This year, he really got into the experience - the lights, the tree, the presents, and of course, the music!

We've stayed very busy with our new friends from the Huntsville/Madison Moms & Tots group, and Gavin and I have both enjoyed making so many new friends. I also accomplished one of my personal goals by competing in the Rudolph Run - my first 5K!

After just returning from travel, we've got a lot to catch up on, but I promise I'll get the Christmas photos up soon. On a positive note, my baby's various injuries are finally well healed, so hopefully these will be the last set of pictures with bumps, bruises, cuts, and scrapes - at least for a while!
